This morning we challenges ourselves to write our name as many time as we could, some of us made it to over 20 times!
We listened to the story of the Little Red Hen and thought about what a CHARACTER was and what the characters in the story were. The main characters were the Cow, Dog, Mouse and Chicken. We then thought about how we could act out the animals to help the story come alive. Later on in the morning we used photos to capture our ideas and had a go at drawing the characters in the story.
In Maths we explored repeating patterns and used our new felt tips to extend XYXY repeating patterns.
Using idems that we had collected on our nature walk to the bird hide last week we looked at why the leaves were turning brown and what the different seeds from the trees looked like. We then thought about how we could make a collage from the bits and pieces and used images of hedgehogs and squirrels to stick on the items and make a nice picture.
The story we had today was 'I want my hat back' and we used this story to think about how telling the truth is always the right thing to do and then we thought abut what the story was trying to tell us about the rabbit! The children all had a go at drawing what they thought would happen next.
Before we came home we had a go on the adventure playground and really challenged ourselves to go a little higher safely!
