We had a look at the letter p today. The handwriting poem for this one is down the plait and around the pirates face. We then split the group in two and half the children moved on to start trying to blend the letters together to read words like, dad, sat, mat, at. Whilst the other half recapped over the letter sounds we have already met.
In table jobs the children looked at collections of books and pointed out the tallest and shortest books, they then went on to see if they could order three things in size order.
Everyone had a really good try at writing a letter p.
We had a great talk about families and how different peoples families are. The children had a go at drawing their own families as stick people, to show how many people lived in their homes.
We listened to the story ‘Big Sister, little sister’ and they has a go at drawing their sisters if they had one, or a family member if they did et have a sister.
This afternoon the children helped to move the Guinea pigs up to under the canopy so that they stay warmer as the weather gets colder.
