Thursday 8th September

So many happy faces again this morning!

The children coloured pictures of bicycles to be displayed at the front of the school for the weekend when the big race happens on Sunday.  They were chatting about their bikes and told me about tandems and how their bikes hook onto he back of their daddies bikes!

The we had a story called The Noisy House - This is a Jewish traditional tale (a little bit like Julia Donaldson's A squash and a squeeze)  The children used actions to help them remember the story and were able to join in with the noises that the lion, monkey and chicken made.

In table jobs the children made lions out of sticks and playdough

Talked about and drew their favorite part of 'The Noisy House' story

Talked about colours, sorted and identified all the colours.

Then after a nice snack and milk they entered the environment for play jobs, some of them drew pictures of the troll from yesterdays Billy Goats gruff story and others tried to find and write their friends names.

After lunch the children listened to the story of 'Sharing a shell' by Julia Donaldson and then  had a try at drawing a spiral for a shell.

This afternoon we practiced putting the muddle jumping suits on and had a great time in the mud area on the rope swing and making mud pies.  Also it turned out that puddles are great to ride bikes through!
