Today the children learnt about harvest. They explored what the word really meant, and how different religions may celebrate harvest in different ways. They had a big think about different vegetable sand how they grow, for example the apples grow on trees and the carrots grow underground. Every one chose their favouite fruit/vegetable or they chose one that they were growing at home and drew it.
We then went on to learnt tour harvest song ‘cauliflowers fluffy’
In phonics we had a big task of going through all of the pictures and trying to work out what letter they start with!
We practised a few ball skills on the Astro before snack time, and Mrs Smith was not very good at saving all the goals!
The children listened to the story ‘Unstoppable Max’ and noticed that in the story he had a homemade thinking hat that he put on every time he had to have a big think, so we all thought about what our hat would look like and drew that!
After lunch the children visited the EYFS library and chose their own book to take home
