Monday 12th September

On arrival the children chose a character from the Noisy House story to colour in (Chicken, Monkey or Lion).

Mr Snow then presented his assembly on Roald Dahl and read the children the BFG.  He told the children about Roald Dahls life and how he had developed many of his own words.

Our First phonics lesson!

The children were introduced to RWI phonics and learnt about the sound m as in 'Masie, Mountain, Mountain'.

The children then listen to and acted out the Noisy house story again and learnt what a Story Map was.  They watched as one was created on the board.

Table Jobs....

Maths - the children were presented with pictures of different coloured and types of vehicles, they then had to work out how to group them into three different groups, this could have been on colour, or type or any other way they thought would work

English - The children talked through the story map and made one up of their own by connecting the pictures.  They then cut out their own pictures from this morning

After lunch the children listened to the story of 'Sharing a Shell' again and joined in with the parts that they knew.  The children then used their new skill of making 'm' to draw in the scales on their fish.

Last week the children drew their own self portraits so today they used a variety of different materials from around the room to develop a face of their own!  They came out so well.

They also finalised their thinking from last week where they looked at different foods and talked about which one was their favouirte and made a plate of their favouite foods.
